CAREERS
We’re bringing hope to the hard places and we need people like you!
A career at Food for the Hungry is more than just a job; it is a part of something bigger. We believe that where your job description ends your ministry begins. Our staff are intentionally placed in positions to help us end extreme physical and spiritual poverty for the world’s most vulnerable communities. Our work is just as much about our staff as it is about the beneficiaries in our communities.
Make an impact wherever you are!
We have three primary points of operation in which our US-based staff serve, Phoenix (Headquarters), Nashville, and Washington, DC. We also have US and International staff serving in Asia, Africa and Latin America. If you are called to be a part of an organization doing a God-sized mission, come walk with us.
What We Believe
- We follow Jesus
We are ambassadors of Jesus in our thoughts, words, and deeds. - Our work is relational
We pursue reconciled relationships of grace with those with whom we work, partner, and serve. - We invest wisely and focus on results
We are stewards in God’s Kingdom and strive to invest all resources to maximize missional impact. - We serve with humility
We recognize the dignity of others and put their interests above our own. - We pursue beauty, goodness and truth
In a broken world we are witnesses through our relationships and work of God’s beauty, goodness, and truth.
The Bible, uniquely and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit, is the infallible Word of God, a complete and unified witness to God’s redemptive acts culminating in the incarnation of the Living Word, the Lord Jesus Christ.
I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.
Jesus said (Matthew 22:37-40 ESV): “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And the second is: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” Jesus further said (Matthew 5:17 ESV), “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.”

Hear from our staff around the world about why they love working with Food for the Hungry:
Alex Mwaura
Position: Program Director, Kenya
Time with FH: 8 years
Why work for FH: The FH ethos is extremely appealing to me. I get to work with a group of talented, creative, hardworking and vision-driven people; guys who simply yearn to bring hope (in their own respective ways) to a hurting world. Moreso, we are courageous enough to want to end poverty, worldwide!

Alex Mwaura
Position: Communications Coordinator, Guatemala
Time with FH: 3 years
Why work for FH: I was studying graphic design at university and I was praying to find a place where I can use my skills to serve others. I think God responded to my prayers by calling me to serve here. Now, I have been working as a communications and public relations coordinator for three years and I'm so excited about what God is doing through our work in the communities where we serve and in ourselves.
I really love the way we understand poverty and development and how we involve families and children in their own growth.
